What to do over Winter break (…besides binge on Netflix)

Resume Refresh

When was the last time you looked at your resume? This is a great time to add any academic/professional projects, internships, or achievements to your resume. This can also be a great time to reformat your resume and update any contact information that may have changed. This way when a great opportunity comes along, there is less for you to do when it comes to your resume.

Look Over your LinkedIn

Like your resume, add any updates to your LinkedIn Profile and search for connections such as classmates, professional contacts, or Alumni. LinkedIn is a great place to expand your network and see where Anderson Alumni are working.

Investigate Internship Opportunities

Check out internship opportunities both locally, nationally, or internationally. Recruiters and employers typically look for interns a semester out, so it is great to see what opportunities may be available currently as well as in the future. Additionally, by looking at internship opportunities, you will begin to see what skills or qualifications employers would like for interns to possess. Review the Internship Opportunities website for resources to begin your internship search: Additionally, mark your calendars for the 2017 Internship Fair on Tuesday, January 31st from 11:00am-2:00pm in the Student Union Building, Ballroom C.

Launch your Lobo Career Connection Profile

Are you familiar with Lobo Career Connection? Lobo Career Connection is a large database specific to UNM students were employers are specifically recruiting students from UNM.
